The Role:

This position will report to the President/CFO and is both hands-on and managerial in nature.

The right candidate will have a very strong background in accounting, ideally with a public accounting foundation and 5+ years of experience in managing an accounting department.

The Senior Accounting Executive will be assisting in developing and implementing internal controls as well as collaborating with external auditors.

This role is poised for growth into the CFO position within 12-24 months from hire.
Responsibilities:
-
Prepare all aspects of accounting, financial reporting and analyses of operations for the guidance of management. This includes general ledger, fixed assets, accounting, payroll, treasury management, internal auditing, AR/AP, collections, reporting, and budgetary and expense controls

Improve processes for accounting systems and technology
-
Responsible for managing the company’s financial plans and processes, maintenance of fiscal records, and creating finance reports

Working closely with partnering financial institutions and maintaining professional relationships

Supporting the CFO in creating management controls, financial reporting processes, stock management, taxes, and corporate finance responsibilities

Create financial reporting packages for both management and investment partners
-
Management of quarterly and annual auditing
-
Setting up early state portfolio companies
-
Handling tax planning and maintaining compliance at a local, state, and federal level
Requirements:
-
Bachelor's Degree and CPA
-
10+ years experience, preferably in Real Estate
-
GAAP accounting rules
-
Equity and purchase accounting treatments
-
Knowledge of tax structures
-
Effectively work with a small budget for an early-stage organization
-
Advanced computer skills, including Excel. Great Plains experience a bonus

Exceptional interpersonal skills, in both working with and managing a wide range of personalities
